COMPLAINTS HANDLING

1.The aim at all times is to give you an excellent service. However, if you have a complaint you are invited to let us know as soon as possible. It is not necessary to involve a solicitor in order to make the complaint but you are free to do so if you wish.

2. Please note that Pegasus will only address complaints that are raised within 6 months of the act or omission complained of.

3. Complaints must be made in writing:

Please ensure that the following details are given:
a. Your name and address;
b. Which staff member you are complaining about;
c. The details of the complaint:
d. What action you would like regarding the complaint

5. We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 7 days and provide you with details of how your complaint will be dealt with.  A customer service officer will be appointed to handle your complaint. Within 21 days the appointed customer services officer will write to you informing you that the lodged complaint will be investigated and the result reported to them within 21 days.  In any case, the person who you are complaining about will not be the appointed customer services officer, under any circumstances.


6. The appointed officer’s report will set out the nature and scope of the investigation, the conclusion on each complaint and the basis for the conclusion.  If he/she finds that you are justified in your complaint, the proposal for resolving the complaint

7. Confidentiality; All conversations and documents relating to the complaint will be treated as confidential and will be disclosed only to the extent that is necessary.  Disclosure will only be to anyone involved in the complaint and the investigation.

8. If you are not happy with the customer services officer’s report of the investigation results, you can make a referral to Mediation service.

9. If mediation proves unsuccessful you will be given a copy of the full file and you can then complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). You have an ultimate right to refer any unresolved disputes to the FOS.

10.Our policy; as part of our commitment to client care we make a written record of any complaint and retain all documents and correspondence generated by the complaint for a period of 6 years.

12.Complaints can also be made to the Solicitors Regulation Authority  and to the Bar Council.
